Default There used to be a gate

There was a gate years ago that Villages Residents used their cards to enter. Knowing other communities residents use The Villages doggie park and our multi-modal paths,etc.. I often wondered why it wasn't fixed, especially when I heard that some non-residents were golfing after hours....... I am still a happy Villager and I love my home in CC Hills, but we forsee many changes as build out completes. I have used the path numerous times in my 9 years here. My granddaughter LOVED that SLOW bumpy ride, with giggles all the way.....we would take a relaxing break at the picnic tables in the small parklike setting along the route looking for butterflies and cardinals in the pretty flowers, then we would grab some pretty flowers to plant at Lowes and enjoy an ice cream at Sonic. Walmart for some girly shopping time. Not that this will hinder our enjoyment, but like the buffalo, this child will be saddened and will question why. I have seen restaurants close and remain vacant for years. Our Hilltop Country Club is now closed. Who knows for how long. I know Harold Schwartz would not approve of many changes that have occured through the years. If and when the music stops we will head to The Keys...........My 1st thought about this was for the employees of those businesses (yes, some residents have to work and a spouse has just a golf cart)) and our elderly neighbors that are on fixed incomes that relied on this path for whatever reason.............IMHO....this isn't over.......

lift the gate. I had sent an e-mail more than four years ago to Janet Tutt regarding residents having to pay to maintain the multi-model paths while nonresidents access them for free. At that time I was told the developer was in talks with the property owner on the other side where this wall has now been erected but nothing ever came of it. If non residents want to use
the multi-model paths then the counties should take them over like they do our roads and everyone pays for them out of their taxes. I have used the
dirt trail to go to Lowe's and my doctor but I will now use the car.
