Sorry to burst the bubble but I was heavily involved with anti virus protection for a major US trucking company. This was both on the client side of things and the network side. Both products made a big push to get out business. Symantec caused more problem that it corrected. We junked it in no time. McAfee is almost as bad. I have personally run both on computers here at home and both have caused all kinds of issues with software that I purchased. Both have blocked legal upgrades to purchased software that had been running for months with no problem. Both were junked in favor of Microsoft Security Essentials.
Another thing is that MSE takes no where near the overhead and resources to run as McAfee or Symantec.
To top things off Microsoft Security Essentials is FREE and is updated every day. A scan is run and you would not even know it.
Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes is all that is needed.
