If a gate goes up, I predict it will be one with a high frequency of accidental trauma. Get those gate cameras ready. And who will be paying to repair and replace those gates, we know the answer. The additional wear and tear of a few thousand extra people on the paths is minimal. There is no liability from reasonable use and the risk of liability from poor design or maintenance would apply for villagers not just visitors.
