He is going to the USDB (United States Disciplinary Barracks) at Ft. Leavenworth KS, not the Federal Penitentiary there. I lived 8 miles away. It's not as bad as you may think, read this. U.S. Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth I don't think it would be appropriate for him to be with the women prisoners at San Diego.
