I currently live in Delaware. Car reistration is $40 a year includes the plate which stays with the car not the owner. Just paid my real estate taxes. $167 for the county $900 something school taxes. $87 votech school taxes. Yes grand total $1100 and change for real estate taxes. I am moving from the lowest cost of living state in the country as rated by Where to Retire, Forbes etc. to Florida which isn't the highest but is up there. Going to be a rude awakening for taxes and fees etc. for us! BTW NO sales tax in Delaware either.
The Delaware Chancery Court system pays for most of the state sevices here. Every major corporation in the country is incorporated here and pays the state for the privilege.
