The wood look tile will probably be my choice when it's time to replace our current laminate. I love the look of our floors, but I'm a tile fan. I love the cool floors and the ability to change the decor with some simple throw rugs, which I can also do with the laminate. Grouts have come a long way in recent years, so I don't think that's a problem anymore, plus you can scrub tile, if necessary.
We have a cat and also seem to pick up a lot of dust, even though we don't have the windows open. I am slightly "allergic". For that reason I would not have carpet. Sure, it doesn't show dust, but that just means you are living with it and don't know it.
