Verizon Wireless doesn't own any towers in TV, and neither does AT&T. They each lease space on area towers & Villages water tanks for their individual antennas, and lease space on the ground for their individual equipment. This is called co-locating. These days the vast majority of tower sites are owned by "infrastructure only" companies like American Tower, Crown Castle, Spectrasite and others, as the actual wireless service providers like VZ, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, etc. prefer not to be in the real estate business. AT&T telling unhappy customers that they were building new towers within TV was pure BS. They probably improved their coverage by upgrading their existing antennas & equipment, but no new towers were built. Verizon is a co-locator on three TV area towers & one water tank, not eight.
