The speed bumps are worth thinking about. They would have to put them across both lanes approaching the tunnel from both SweetBay and Caroline and on the eastbound side in the tunnel as you exit. If they don't put one on both lanes, people will cut into the wrong lane to avoid them creating more danger. Just like they had to put rocks on the grass for the same reason at Bridgeport.

Hi mikeod: You are absolutely correct. Drivers will continue to cut into oncoming traffic at these tunnels because they are taking the turn too fast. So the obvious solution is to force them to slow down. I hate speed bumps but that appears to be the most likely solution. Certainly honking one's horn will only add more noise and more confusion.
After 7 years of living here I am no longer surprised by the unsafe antics of golf cart drivers. I suspect the culprit lies in that such drivers view a golf cart as some sort of toy when most of us are aware it can be a deadly instrument.
