First thing I would suggest is to unplug the router, wait about a minute, then plug it back in and let it reboot. If that doesn't help, then unplug the modem and the router and again wait about a minute and plug the modem back in. Let the modem reboot. Once that is done, plug the router back in and let it reboot. See if that solves the problem. I recently had a problem with Internet pages loading in spurts and/or slowly. The procedures above greatly improved the performance.

One other possibility is interference from cordless phones which could cause your signal strength to your laptop to vary.
