The posts are quite interesting on how long it took to buy in The Villages. We rented through TV in Bonnybrook in February of 2007 for the entire month and yes...we do remember the first of that month. We looked at a couple of homes in the Historic section first and looked at ranches and took the trolley tour. As we got off the trolley, some people that purchased in 2006 yelled out "I know you." They gave us the real, real tour. We rented for two months in Amelia in 2008 (a newly built ranch), the same place in 2009, and a golf course Designer in Palo Alto in 2010. As fate may have it, we contacted the same woman that we had rented from in Amelia and rented the same place for two weeks in September. Our tunnel vision was little play and strictly business; we were there to buy. We found that The Villages sales staff were low key and no pressure which we really appreciated. The fact is that The Villages sells itself. We looked again in the Historic side, once again, and our property manager told us that we (Deanna and I) liked to be 'where the action is' only because the Historic section is quieter. We found a home in Lynnhaven which allowed us to be six month residents (for right now anyway) and was mid way between Sumter landing and Spanish Springs which is ideal for us. So, after taking the long way around the barn, four trips in four years and absolutely no regrets. We're living the dream !!!
