SECO Energy Project on Buena Vista Boulevard
On Monday, September 9th, SECO Energy, your locally owned and operated electric cooperative, will begin installation of a new electric line in the Villages to meet the needs of a growing population and to supply energy for the expansion of Brownwood, including new medical complexes, retail facilities and a large chain grocery store.
The project is expected to take approximately three months to complete and requires 57,000 feet of cable to be installed in stages along the transportation trail along Buena Vista Boulevard from Highway 466A in the Villages to Highway 44 at Brownwood.
All transportation trails and tunnels will remain open thanks to the cooperative efforts of SECO, the Villages Community Development District and the Developer. There will be short, clearly marked detours as the work progresses in stages along the trail.
At this time, it is anticipated that all work will be conducted during daylight hours. Residents are encouraged to use particular caution in the areas where work is taking place. For more information or if you have questions regarding this project; please call your local SECO office at 352-793-3801.
