NOT! my elec supplier - jersey central power and light - is 'light years' behind providing its customers with up-to-date transmission equipment! my 8 days without power were the result of out-of-state repair crews having to search for and when not found MANUFACTURE rube goldberg replacement parts for what they defined as ANTIQUE equipment that they had not seen in AGES!

the only aspect of shared misery came while standing in line every day for a bag of ice for the refrigerator and a half case of bottled drinking water; and waiting outside the car in the cold and wind for 5 gals of gas for the generator that we paid thru the nose for and waited in line to purchase on day 3 of the outage.

the power outage described in this thread is nothing in comparison!
