We, too, were getting close to $200 on our Comcast bill....we have the Triple Play Bundle and the "Digital Preferred" package......so many channels that we never watch. I called them and told them that I didn't enjoy paying for channels that are in Spanish (I don't speak it nor do I understand it). I watch maybe 10 channels and that is it. If you bark loud enough they will offer you a different package, maybe less channels, maybe the same package they offer new customers. In MY case I asked to be scaled back to the "Digital Basic" package which still gave me all of the channels we watch except for NATGEO. I haven't received a bill for a full month yet, based on the new package price, but making this change will reduce my bill by at least $30 per mo. In speaking with the customer service associate (more likely a customer retention specialist) I learned that Comcast offers certain "promotions" at different times and by calling them they can "check to see what promotions are available in your area at that time". It's a shame that calling them and complaining about the cost is the only way we ever hear about "promotions". All in all, we have been very happy with Comcast....love the quality of the TV picture (HD) and the internet is very fast. I don't need a landline anymore but getting rid of it will increase the cost of the TV and internet to more than we pay now. So, my advice is to call Comcast and complain....it just might get you a reduced rate. In my case my "deal" is good for two years at which time I was advised to call again!
