Where are you coming from?

I'm in Maryland.
Retired in May from the federal government. Forty years in DoD. Last 15 at the Pentagon.
I've been to TV twice before.
This trip is a long term (Apr-Dec) rental in Hemingway while my home is on the market here. As soon as it sells I plan on, all things considered, buying something in TV. Designer looks most likely. Can't decide on new or pre-owned. North or south. The long term rental will help with that.
Right now I'm cleaning out the house, going to the gym, etc. Getting ready.
My biggest concern is being active in retirement. I've been looking at the various TV activities - biking, dancing, pickle ball, etc. - to see how I can fill up my time. I understand how it can start out slow being a newbie, but I don't expect that to last forever.
Dancing instruction was the basic ballroom; waltz, rhumba, swing, fox trot, cha cha. I'm not particularly good but the rough edges have been smoothed out. Now, I feel like I'm losing it fast since I don't have a dance partner.
Probably to much information.
Look forward to meeting you and the rest of the great people in TV. It's all about the residents.
Now its time to have breakfast and head to the gym.
