The upside of charging is snakes HATE the smell of the fumes given off.
During NORMAL charging....Hydrogen Gas is given off.
We all know what the combination of Hydrogen Gas and a Flame creates.
The biggest risks would be...
...if you have a gas fired water heater in garage..or..
...if you have a gas fired furnace in garage (think heating in Winter).
...if someone light a cigarette near the golfcart while charging it.
We are not even considering the Silver and Gold you have stored in your garage ...or.. the finish on your automobible or golfcar or

golfglubs.
That stash of rifles and

handguns and trophies

would possibly have finish damage.
HOWEVER.....if you were charging the batteries...and...
..................the batteries had damages internal plates ..or
..................the batteries had low electrolyte levels....
..........( think the internal plates are not covered with distilled water)....
..the batteries would give off "Hydrogen Sulfide".
"Hydrogen Sulfide" is NASTY stuff.......
.....just 50 parts per million, you could smell it in the air,
can cause eye damage.

... 1000 parts per million in the air causes you to black out in ONE breath.
I open the golfcart garage door halfway up ...and...
.........place a fan so it will blow the gases OUT the door.
