Villager Wins Player of Year; Others Win Flights
Villager Les Brightbill has won the North Central Florida Senior Amateur Golf Tour 2013 Player of the Year. Les played in 10 tournaments during the year-long competition, made 9 birdies, played to a Tour index of 10.0, and accrued more points than any other player with 4,000. In addition, he also won First Place in the B Flight.
Several other Villages residents, who played on the Tour as well, receive trophies recognizing consistent quality play.
In the A Flight, Villager Shade Smith took second place. He played 8 tournaments, had 7 birdies, 1 eagle, and played to a Tour index of 7.3 while accumulating 2,620 points.
In the B Flight, Villager Jesse Dayton won second place. He played 9 tournaments, sank 6 birdies and played to a Tour index of 9.9. He accumulated 2,375.5 points.
Villager Steve Stuetzle won the Championship Flight with 1,725 points in 5 events.
