Judging by some of the posts on this thread, I don't think everyone is fully aware of the seriousness of alcoholism.

Alzheimer's is probably caused by a genetic reason and that gene MAY have been altered by any number of things or it could have been a non dominant recessive trait or a dominate trait. Much is being discovered about genetics by the minutes, even seconds, these days. Some think that the tendency toward alcoholism may be genetic. It GOT my attention.

Genes alone don't cause Alzheimer's. The Alzheimer's gene has to be triggered by some behavior like drinking, smoking, overeating to the point of becoming overweight, or something in the environment.

I never said that everything can be avoided by eating a healthy diet. But a high percentage of degenerative diseases ARE caused by poor lifestyle habits. Those who doubt this are very likely already taking medications for some of these health issues.

Are you speaking for everyone, or just yourself? I think you're speaking for yourself and you don't expect to live much longer. Maybe I should say "goodbye".

"Relax and enjoy a few more things" comes across as very condescending, as if I'm not relaxed and not enjoying anything. So pardon me if I don't think you mean it "kindly and most sincerely."
