Default Why are some of the bicycle riding clubs so rude?

I walk and run frequently in the villages. Like everybody I use the residential streets and cart lanes. There is an alarming trend of organized bicycle groups hogging the road. They ignore stop signs, travel faster than the posted limit on many street and generally intimidate walkers, runners, motorists and golf carts. When passing, dangerously close to walkers, they shout their instructions to each other and I don't think they know how disconcerting it is when a walker or runner doesn't expect it. They do not seem to be the slightest bit friendly as they speed by.

I believe it was bicycle riders that initiated the saying "Share the Road." Now it seems they don't want to share it, they want to own it.
