It seems to me self-evident in many cases where a TV series or movie is doomed to fail. World War Z is such a movie and never would I pay to go see it. In fact there hasn't been a movie tat has drawn my interest in a very long time.
As for TV series there are some that need to be watched a few times to determine their viability. I was hesitant about Low Winter Sun but watched it first season only to conclude that is too dark for me
Risky the fact that some label me wimpy I do find many foreign films more interesting mainly because they appear more down to earth
Too many American movies are just plain vulgar, shallow and or depend on special effects to get them through. I especially dislike movies that are made to send a political message. I want movies to entertain me not spread the story tellers politics. While I watch and like Homeland I suspect I am the only who noticed that the background photos in its opening displaying credits intentionally omit George W. who more than any other president featured established national security policy concerning terrorists.
Gravity was severely criticized by many people familiar with space travel.
