A water softener does little if anything to filter water, it only softens water.
Having said that hard water is not harmful.
You still get all the chlorine, metals and other contaminants in your case sediments.
These elements are in fact harmful drinking, bathing & cooking.
There's no substitute for a good
whole house filter system.
All the above will be removed.
