These people are seldom panhandlers; much more likely to try to sell you something or perform a service for you at a cut rate. I'm new to this area, but hopefully there are organizations that people who are hungry or homeless can be directed to? I came here from a very small town in NC. We had/have a wonderful organization that provides meals, lodging and other assistance to people who are in the midst of unfortunate situations. In recent years, there have been so many in need; and many families with young children. I hope we don't confuse the truly needy with those who would intentionally victimize us.
