here are some 2013 online reviews

We bought an Aquasana whole house filtering system recently when we remodeled our entire house. The resulting water quality is the worst we've ever experienced - far worse than the tap water without any filter (we've lived in this area for over 30 years).

We called Aquasana to ask them to check it out and they refused - saying the problem is at the source, i.e., the water coming into the house - and not their product. Now we have to find a water specialist to test the water or get the city water department involved to prove what is causing the problem. The filters are literally dark brown with sediment after only a few weeks.

The system is over-priced; supplies are expensive and the water taste terrible. Buyer beware !!

Company does not respond to emails, calls etc. They don't provide product support. When it comes to replacing the unit after 3years, what are you suppose to do with the old canister? It's not recyclable and you can't just put it in the garbage. You are stuck with a used filter full of water. It's sitting in my garage. Get a system that allows you to change the inside filter and not the whole canister.

The simplesoft is totally useless. They gave fancy explanation that the Ca and Mg are somehow bounded by their stuff and would be less likely sticking to the pipe and appliance. However, you have no way to see the difference or prove it. The water spots are still everywhere in the shower room and on the dishes.

I was trying to search for some REAL review online, but didn't find any. Most searches link to their own site. I went to couple forums asking for feedback and heard nothing good. They just use the high profit margin making up a good image on the internet.

The whole thing is not difficult to install at all. But they put the requirement to have professional plumber for warranty, to set you in a trap. Once you spend a few hundred dollar for installation and might need a bit more to remove, you will have a hard time deciding if you want to return or not.
