Default Bob Collins and Karl Loeper offer life-saving tips

Severe Weather Safety Seminars

Here’s a way to prepare for the worst from Mother Nature.

The Weather Guys, Karl Loeper and Bob Collins, from the AM 640 WVLG Weather Center, will present two Severe Weather Safety Seminars at St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church in Summerfield. Bring your sense of humor as Bob and Karl have some amusing ways to help you remember what you need to know. Karl will cover all you need to know about Hurricanes, and Bob will address the dangers associated with Tornadoes, Hail, Flash Floods and Lightning. Do you have a spare 60 to 90 minutes to learn the dos and don’ts that could save your life? A question and answer session will be held after the presentations.

The Seminars will be held on two Fridays in July, the 6th and 13th. Start time is 5 PM. Admission is $5.00 per person. All proceeds from the Seminars will go to the Church Building Fund. Since it is near dinner time, the Men’s Guild will have hot dogs, hamburgers, fresh popcorn and beverages for sale. Tickets will be available at all Villages Box Offices from Thursday, June 7 right up to show time, if available. Box offices are located in Spanish Springs, Lake Sumter Landing, and Saddlebrook Recreation Center. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.thevillages.net/boxoffice. Box office sales questions will be answered at 352 753-3229.

St Mark’s address is 7165 S.E. Highway 42, Summerfield, FL 34491. It is located on the north side of Route 42 between US 301 and Buena Vista Blvd.
