I understand the concern about excessive traffic.
Would they really park in your driveway?

It's difficult to believe all this prattle has been resurrected as to how horrible The Villages is for maintaining the product it has built and charged it's residents accordingly to live within it's perimeters and have the special perks that come within those home prices and fees.
For Stonecrester's to assume the "holier than thou attitude" is probably the most upsetting. Stonecrester's don't want to live in The Village's, many make disparaging remarks about The Villages, (the remark a woman from Stonecrest made at an earlier gate meeting which Gracie reported, comes to mind...) and that The Villages isn't friendly because we won't kowtow to Stonecrest is laughable.
To those Stonecrester's I say, punch a hole in your wall so everyone from The Villages can enter your compound at will so we can use what is available to us to use. We won't use anything we shouldn't. Why should we have the hassle at the front gate and go through clearance, that's extra effort to be able to access Stonecrest and we find it a great hardship.
And while you're at it, Stonecrest, make a hole at the other end of the compound too because that would make it much easier for the street legals from The Villages to get to the streets on the backside.
Someone posted on here that they only come in about 5 times a year and ripped on how wrong it is to put that gate in place, SERIOUSLY? Getting in your car 5 times a year to do the little business you have to do in The Villages does not sound like a problem to me.
People, there isn't a problem with this gate being reinstalled, (remember, there was one there previously). If one feels one needs to have the ready access to businesses located in The Villages by regular golf cart, move to The Villages, period. Stonecrest is more than welcome to use their autos in The Villages as that is the way this community was designed.
If we all respect each others communities, there will be strong healthy relationships between the us. We don't want Stonecrest to provide or do things for us that is not in their design, we ask for the same.
Senior, think about this scenerio... you move to The Villages and your neighbor across the street asks you to leave your front door and back door unlocked so they can get to the neighbor's house behind you quickly and they won't touch anything in your house on the way through. That way they wouldn't have to jump on their bike to travel to their friend"s house. Good arrangement for everyone, right?
