Winter here is (for the most part) warmer than fall in New England. People who have lived here for a while will tell you that it gets cold. I found last winter to be fine in shirt sleeves. (Of course, your mileage may vary. DW often puts on a sweater in the dead of summer to deal with A/C!).

That having been said, it can (and does) fall below freezing. Not often, but it can. Bottom line, a light jacket will probably get you thru and (if you are coming from MA in November), the coat you wear for the trip will do if we get a really cold day.

Some folks (like me) wear shorts during what passes for winter here.
