One of the mindless activities I
used to do was track temperatures in TV. The December you mentioned had only 5 days where the high temp got over 70 degrees, compared to 2007 which had 23. The December you mention had 12 days that never reached 60.
January and February of 2010 had 23 days where it never hit 60, 15 where it never hit 55. Pretty easy to get a tee time that year. The running joke was "Someday I am going to get a place in FL".
I forget which year, but there was a stretch where over night temperatures go to the low 20s....
Maybe I am getting spoiled, but I will tell you that a day where the temperature hits a high of 56 degrees at 2:30 PM for one minute is
cold. Add to that a 17 MPH north wind and I am staying home

. Granted it is likely 10 degrees up north and snowing, but it is supposed to be.
On those days, it is not possible to convey to a friend up north why I am not golfing....
On the other hand the last two winters have been glorious....
Great day today.... up and at 'em
