I never had Comcast, but I am not impressed with CenturyLink.
CenturyLink has some limitations as to what can be downloaded due to the 3MB speed. Higher speeds are not available in my area. If you just want to down video clips and use e-mail, it works ok. I am use to the higher speeds that my previous carrier offered in that I am used to my screen changing instanteously..
They have people in customer service that don't know their product. I asked if my internet could hooked up without a phone jack near my computer. I bought a house with only one phone jack in the kitchen. I was assured in could be done. The installer said they didn't know what they were talking about. He was able to install two devices that worked in conjunction with the router, but wires were all over the place, UGLY!!!!! The installation and first bill was extremely high in my opinion. I had a phone line installed at my own expense. If you want to see who's calling you, you need a phone jack by the television according to DirecTV.
Just make sure your aware of all charges that will be on your first bill and every bill thereafter. It is easy to get through to customer service.
