CenturyLink has some limitations as to what can be downloaded due to the 3MB speed. Higher speeds are not available in my area. If you just want to down video clips and use e-mail, it works ok. I am use to the higher speeds that my previous carrier offered in that I am used to my screen changing instanteously..
What village are you in? We're in Tamarind Grove off St. Charles and I have Century Link 10mpbs speed 'to the curb', which means no modem. I plug my router or computer directly into the phone jack. I've never had any problems or outages that I can remember.

Today for the first time my landline is not working. I have no dial tone, I called the '800 service number' on my cellphone and got a rep right away. They said someone will be out today to fix the problem. They said it looks like our area is out, and I'm the first one to report it. Our internet is still working, it's only the landline. If anyone else who has a Century Link landline you might want to check it for a dial tone.
