They come out in May and Sept and last about 4 weeks each time (a little less in Sept than May, it seems); They do not bite or sting or buzz; they seem to like auto (diesel?) exhaust so are a real issue on the turnpike and interstates; more of a minor annoyance on local roads; they are resting til about 10 am then start flying about until early evening then quiet down again. I don't feel as though they are a hindrance to daily outdoor activity. On the good news side, we don't seem to have any problem with mosquitos or regular house flies here. Bug problems are far less than I had expected when moving to Florida.
