I seems that the incidents of humans attacked by constrictor snakes cited on this thread mostly involved children who were either asleep or alone by snakes who were unattended or other wise unsupervised. I don't see how they are comparable in any way to the situation at Brownwood town square. In addition, if that snake were going to attack someone why wouldn't it be the owner who it was already wrapped around, instead of some one in the crowd passing by?
But, I guess phobias are by definition irrational. It is what it is.
