In addition, if that snake were going to attack someone why wouldn't it be the owner who it was already wrapped around, instead of some one in the crowd passing by?
But, I guess phobias are by definition irrational. It is what it is.
To me it's "irrational" to ignore the facts presented by U.S. Humane Society shown in the screen snapshot below, and all the other facts presented in that web page, and by other animal rights groups earlier in the thread.

Refusal to acknowledge the fact that the many harmless pet dogs present at the squares could easily get involved with and attacked/choked by a python that gets away from its owner standing on the square across from Five Guys Restaurant there is purposeful irrationality!

Refusal to acknowledge the statements in the humane society report "All of the giant constrictors have demonstrated an appetite for dogs" and "Experienced reptile handlers and dogs alike have been attacked by constrictor snakes" is willfully irrational.

And about this minimizing claim, "if that snake were going to attack someone why wouldn't it be the owner who it was already wrapped around, instead of some one in the crowd passing by?", it's also willfully irrational to ignore the fact that I stated in the first post that "Suddenly as I got closer, I saw half the body and head of a gigantic python lunge outward from the guy's shoulders, and in my direction", and that being then draped over only one shoulder at that point, it could have easily lunged to the ground and struck and attacked me or others there.

Of all the other comments that are refusals to consider facts about the dangers and inappropriateness of allowing these wild animals in the square that don't even belong in Florida swamps, there is the fact that the newly opened Five Guys Restaurant, and the other businesses there, surely do not need or want this kind of freak show on the sidewalk there, terrorizing innocent patrons coming there to dine and relax.
