You don't need to be strapped in to theVillages Healthcare..UnitedHealth Care policies.
Florida Blue..has 2 wonderful MEDICAL ADVANTAGE policies..with dental, vision and drug...
There is a Medical Advantage PPO..and a Medical Advantage HMO.. no deductible.
I found many of the doctors take BOTH plus MOFFITT..and I believe Shands.
out of pocket annually for the HMO is $4900..the United Heath HMO-Villages is $4700.
With the Villages You HAVE TO USE THEIR DOCTORS..Period..
Suggestion: look at ALL your options. I'm meeting with the BC/BS agent tomorrow and doing the 'big picture comparison'. We have until Dec 5th..and again..there is short window to 'opt out'..if you wish and go with another carrier.
Do choose wisely. I had my 'meet and greet' the other day..nothing special.. he focused on some 'osteoarthritis'..which hasn't bothered me since 1994 when I had surgery for it....I am healthy and don't take any meds...so maybe he was trying to find something. Just didn't get that touchy feely feeling that everyone is taking about. You are a 'number' there.
it seems like an assembly line and you will see a ARNP most likely and not your doctor if its a same day appt.
Just do your homework and be sure you are comfortable with your decisions.
