One man's opinion: I've been dealing with Prism for the last week. They promised a lot, but you should know a couple things. In the end, they failed to deliver for me.
First, ask how many feet you are from their server. I finally found out that they do not guarantee HD service beyond 6500 feet. I'm 7400 and it sort of works, but has picture issues and the HD On Demand does not work. That may change as they add servers, but there is no schedule. If you are less than 6500 feet away, it will probably work fine. But they also have limitations on how many HDTV signals you can watch depending on how far away you are.
Second, their menus, especially the On Demand, are awkward to use. Comcast has the best menus and navigation of any provider I have seen (Comcast, Prism, DTV, Fios).
Third, Prism can be difficult to contact too, but more frustrating is that I got different answers from everyone I talked to. I have given up with their service.
Fourth, Prism does not use coax cable to connect to the TV's. Everything is done through the wired connection into the house, then through wireless. This is great in some instances since you are not tied to the coax wiring in the house, but they will add a wired outlet for the input. Also, their whole system is built on a Microsoft product that does need to be reset occasionally- a bit of a pain since it can take 5-10 minutes depending on how many devices need to be reset.
Comcast can be a pain too, but the extra money may well be worth it.
