Villages resident Les Brightbill is the Senior Amateur Golf Tour B Flight National Champion for 2013.
Les won the National Championship in Pinehurst, NC, Nov. 12-13, competing with the best of the best golfers, who represented 14 other Tours from all over the country.
Locally Les plays the North Central Florida Tour of the Senior Amateur Golf Tour. Les also was recognized by the local Tour as the "Player of the Year." He plays to a Tour index of 10, and accumulated 4,000 points during the year.
Also Villages resident Jesse Dayton had a top 10 finish by placing fourth in the B Flight in the National Championship.
Other Villages residents who competed in the National Championship were: Jim Castello, Mike Clement, Mike Homschek, Shade Smith, Steve Stuetzle, Tom Vail, and Curt Wallace.
