P.S. Sandy H. says, "Hi."
Hope they are both doing well? Jennifer V. took off after graduating from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1990 and I continued at their Law Library cataloging all the WESTLAW computer files for a national project coordinated by Gail Daly as well as cataloging books in a bunch of foreign languages while also dabbling in a number of other foreign languages I took or tried to learn at the University of Minnesota. Succeeded with Dutch and German and already had a few years of French and some Spanish. Could not quite get Russian, Chinese, Japanese and to a lesser extent Italian. The tenses got to me in studying Italian. Plus, I already had four degrees and was just taking languages for fun. I was also getting to do a little of what I always loved-- reference work in libraries.

Jennifer V. was a little worried about my involvement with the survivors and victims of crimes rights to practical information obsession of mine based on the 2-24 murder of Michelle Mitchell in Reno, Nevada on my birthday in 1976. I tried to keep her out of it for a while because other former law students who had been friends like Phil G. steered very clear from this because they were afraid that they would experience the same kind of pariah status that I had picked up while really pushing this cause. I do still believe that public law libraries and other libraries paid for by citizen tax money are there for the use and enjoyment of all citizens and not just law students, law professors and attorneys. To help survivors of crimes get access to valuable information you have to go to them and ask them what they would like to see in publically funded law and other libraries. I wrote about 4000 victims services providers from 1992 through 2002 to see what they would like to see in law and other types of libraries and tried to spark a dialog by bugging librarians of all kinds about the needs of survivors/victims of crimes.

Anyway, if you did contact Sandy H. thanks. If Jennifer V. does some research and uses her very sharp mind she should see that I have made quite an impact with the twenty four or more years I have put into this obsession of mine since I last saw her around May of 1990. Jennifer V. did keep in contact with me until her marriage. The law librarian convention in Reno, Nevada of 1989 where I was introduced as the WESTLAW cataloger mentored by Gail Daly was the strongest factor in pulling out this obsession of mine. I did talk about it quite a bit with Jennifer V. during the 9 months I lived with her near the University of Minnesota Law School. We both, but Jennifer V. more extensively, were also the victims of a U of Minnesota stalker named Gail P. Which, of course, the University could not or would not do much about during the seven months or so she was a nuisance.

Thanks again. Maybe, Sandy H. or Jennifer V. will read some stuff on TOTV!!

I always think of Sandy H. whenever I see a launch from the Space Coast.
