Skip, colon cancer is a very curable cancer when caught early, similar to breast cancer. Colonoscopy tests are very beneficial in finding it early enough to be treated successfully. My Dad had colon cancer in his late 70's, early 80's and had very successful surgery - no chemo, no radiation. He passed away at 94 and had no recurrence of the disease. I immediately went for my first colonoscopy at that time and they found 2 pre-cancerous cysts which would have turned to cancer if I hadn't done my early screening.
