Default What music inspires you?

I have those days when I am just not my usual upbeat self, often with no particular reason, maybe it's the "male menopause". But I find music is a great pick me up. There are cd's that are a must for me on such days.

I find some music/songs really brings me back on dry land.

The Zac Brown Band "Toes in the Water" [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiL_beZtiQc[/ame]

Sting......."Fields of Gold"

Rod Stewart ...."Sailing"

Pavorati........"Brindisi" from La Traviata [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTrUnwILuu0[/ame]

Bonnie Raitt.............singing Richard Thompson's "Dimming of the Day" [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RXJc199zFk[/ame]

and yesterday for me it was "The Hallelujah Chorus" from Handel's Messiah.

As Congreve wrote in "The mourning bride"

"Musick has Charms to sooth a savage Breast,
To soften Rocks, or bend a knotted Oak."

and yes, it is savage breast that he said, not savage beast!
