Yes, it was always my favorite meal to prepare for guests because I didn't have to plan t he menu, and knew how to make all the favorite dishes. Variations were not appreciated by my family. One year I added a little rutabaga to the mashed potatoes, to give it a pretty color. They wouldn't eat it. Another time I forgot the creamed onions and my husband was bitterly disappointed (I think he was the only one who ate them). Always had to have two kinds of cranberry sauce. And always, by the time we ate, I couldn't taste anything.
