I was so delighted and overwhelmed with the wonderful women who walked through our door yesterday.
I had asked the person in charge of weather to see to it that we could sit on the lanai so that every dear person would have a table in front of her chair, and that wish was granted....BUT it was hot and I didn't press the air conditioner on switch in time for it to be comfortable for our guests. I very much apologize to them for being a bit warm.
I absolutely got flustered and didn't remember everyone's name and I am so sorry that several of you didn't get a proper announcement at first. I was so delighted with each of you and the wonderful things you told me. I will keep these delightful secrets to myself but now I know in my heart that someone who has known what I always guessed has made me an even more positive and happy villager.
Each of you came laden with many wonderful goodies to share and then too many of you left without taking your goodies with you. I was so excited at your being there, that I didn't really taste the wonderful food, but I did sit down at the end and absolutely tasted the cake that Pammy brought, her mother's recipe. I want to marry her. I suppose Dougbee will object. And I am already married. WHAT cooks you are. What beautiful people.
We so missed our Missy Pie who was under the weather and our Redwitch who lost her furry friend of 12 years. I am so sorry for you Red for your sadness, and Krista, I hope you are better soon and will bring your mom and dad over while the tree is still up.
My hearers were not working extremely well, and I hope that I didn't miss too many things directed at me. I always feel so bad when people leave that I didn't spend as much time or any personal time with. I hope to remedy that the next time we are together.
My dear mother in law's name was Helen and I met another mother in law named Helen who came with her devoted daughter in law. They are such a special pair, that their love and respect for each other brought tears to my eyes.
There were too many good things to mention and another time at my house with not enough time with Trish Crocker and Mojoe and Salybow.
I have an awful love hate relationship with gifts. I love to give them and feel so overwhelmed when I get them. Some beautiful wrapped items were left behind and although Helene looked longingly at them, I convinced her to put them under the tree. I don't know why you did it, but how can I thank you for your kindness?
I will try to thank you later when we open them. I so love looking at wrapped packages under the tree.
Don't ever do it again. Thank you for doing it.
I don't think anyone could be happier than us. I even didn't get too ruffled when Ohio State lost to Michigan. BECAUSE I know some wonderful stuff about a family from Michigan from the horses mouth, so to speak.
I am so very much blessed. Thank you all dear people. You know where we live, come back often and unexpectedly.
Merry Christmas to all.
Hugs and love,
Gracie, Helene and Henry.
OH P.S. The prize for coming the greatest distance goes to Quirky, who drove all the way from Jacksonville. Her avatar picture shows a beautiful lady. In real life she is EVEN more beautiful and her smile and warmth are so genuine and she is just a treasure to meet in person. I love you Quirky. I THINK I called you CQuick who was also here and I think I called Connie, Cathy. I am so sorry. I know WHO you are in my heart.
