LLW, I would say, consider what John W suggested for your January stay. There is the Waterfront Hotel very close to Lake Sumter landing where you could stay in luxurious conditions and rent a golf cart to take in all the beauty of the Villages. Then the next time you visit, you can set up an LSV trip when there is availability. Also, you can meet up with a lot of villagers in the lobby of the hotel where they have entertainment every night and people will offer you lots of information and will be warm and friendly. Hope this helps.
