Default Americans are always willing to help in a crisis or disaster.

I was thinking this morning that once again we are hearing about ordinary citizens risking life and limb to help total strangers during the disaster in Minneapolis. We heard thousands of those stories after 9/11. It's what Americans do. These people, Americans, ready to help, are considered heroes. Yet, when America ventures out to help human beings in disastrous situations around the world, some of our citizens think we should "mind our own business." I wonder what we would think of people in Minneapolis or New York, if they chose to "mind their own business."
