The main purpose of the gates at this point is to control traffic. Because you have to stop and open the gate, it gives golf carts a chance to cross over the street. It also keeps people from speeding. Many would just zoom through the entrances with little regard to the fact that they are entering a neighborhood, or little regard to the golf cart traffic trying to cross in front of the gates.

TV has not been advertised as a gated community.
