I feel the need to do a PSA, sorry. I found this very interesting but cannot say I loved the movie. The more I thought about it and after seeing it for the second time I can say I like it. If you are just thinking of going to see this because you are fans of Meryl or Julia please do a little research first. I am not going to spoil anything in this post; but this is a very dark comedy. This is based on the Tony winning play and won a Pulitizer prize. I think they must have had a blast filming this but as with most adaptations of straight plays something always seems (to me at least) a bit off...almost like they are playing to the back of the theater. There is a lot of swearing not Wolf of Wall street level but more than American Hustle. Meryl and Julia go at it several times. If you see it I would love to know your thoughts.
