You may have misunderstood my post a bit. I meant that I don't see it as a problem that our streets are public. I would see it as a HUGE problem if our streets were private.

I managed the engineering section of the development review department for one of the most heavily populated counties in Florida. We periodically had residential developments come in with proposals for private street/infrastructure systems. Our code thankfully required that all streets and other infrastructure, including private, be built to public standards, because the vast majority of those developments were back within just a few years begging the county to take back the infrastructure. It was just a much more massive and difficult undertaking than most developments anticipated.

TV is far bigger and more complex than any of those developments were. I see almost zero possibility of TV becoming private. Anything is possible, but even if there were an effort to make it happen, I think the realities would soon be realized and it would not happen.
