I have a spa for three years that runs on 110 and have had no issues whatsoever. I understand that you cannot have the heater running and the hi speed jets at the same time. That is not even a problem. The heater is a smaller capacity, so the water will take a bit longer to warm up, but once at the desired temp, no problem.

I think that my electric bill runs approx. $20/month higher in the summer (no heater) and approx. $30/ month in the winter with heater.

Bought the spa from T & D Pools at their Colony Plaza store.
