Hi, there are so many variations to English and American words:

we say bill, you say check
we say biscuit, you say cookie
we say blind (window) you say shade
we say bonnet (of a car) you say hood
we say boot(of a car) you say trunk
we say candyfloss you say cotton candy

etc etc etc

and then there's spellings and pronunciations, just like in the George and Ira Gershwin song "Let's Call The Whole Thing Off" for the 1937 film ie
You say eether and I say eyether,
You say neether and I say nyther;
Eether, eyether, neether, nyther,
Let's call the whole thing off!
You like potato and I like potahto,
You like tomato and I like tomahto;
Potato, potahto, tomato, tomahto!
Let's call the whole thing off!
