As if we need another hamburger restaurant in The Villages, not to mention another bar in America's healthiest hometown. I think The Villages could just as well be called, "The Burger & Booze Capital of Florida.
The article I read said that the restaurant will have "crystal chandeliers, table linens and Class A service...." If the Queen of England ever comes to visit The Villages, this will be the place for her to try the taste of a delux hamburger. Hamburgers are finally going "high class", with prices to match.
This is going to be McDonald's on steriods, except there won't be any actual steriods or antibiotics. Everything will be all natural, whatever that means. (No definition of "all natural" was given.)
Now here's the best part: The article said the restaurant will be "vegan-friendly". I think that means the servers will give a welcoming smile to vegans and pretend that vegans are no different than their "normal" customers. We can't complain; at least they acknowledge that we exist. We should be thankful.
The article went on to say that they make their own vegan burger. The implication is that vegans are deprived and can't be happy unless they are offered a fake high-sodium burger on a seriously compromised and gooey "whole wheat" bun.
But, hey, we vegans are beggars and beggars can't be choosers. We'll take whatever we can get. Bring on the high-sodium imitation meat products!
