I know this subject has been beaten to death, but I have something to add.
We are negotiating renting our home for the first time and of course the golf cart issue has come us. We called our agent, Sharon Frizell, at Thomas Insurance Services (352 326-8021) to discuss this issue.

Our golf cart is insured through Progressive and she advised that is the one company that allows for renters to use carts as long as there is no additional charge in the rental for the golf cart. I told her I would include the language of the golf cart being made available to the renters at no additional charge and she agreed that would be fine. Now I know you are all rolling your eyes and alarms are going off - GET SOMETHING IN WRITING. Well she provided me with the form Progressive requires to add tenants to your golf cart policy. So it can be done if you are insured with a company that provided that service.
