My brother-in-law and sister-in-law decided that this was the year that they jump in with both feet and bought a villa with the purpose of renting it to defray expenses before they retire.
They had no problem renting it from mid-November to mid-May to 4 different renters. Some inquiries asked if a golf cart was included and they said no. Those inquiries went elsewhere to rent. They are booked solid during the peak "in-season" months.
We had many discussions whether to include a cart in the rental or not, and to risk all that you have worked a lifetime for, was not worth a lost rental. They left a sheet with information on all the businesses that provide rental carts.
If you have a home that you are considering to rent for whatever reason and you have a golf cart, I would suggest to take it off-site. Rent a spot in a storage facility, or park it at a friend or neighbor's garage, but don't include it in the rental at all, regardless what documentation you get from the insurance carrier on your home.
It seems like half of the commercials on television are from lawyers looking to recover damages. Can't really blame them, after all, they have to eat too !!
Just throwing in my 2 cents. That and another $2.98 may buy you a cup of coffee
