I think the heading, "How Google plans to cure death", is a poor choice. In order to cure something you have to first have the disorder. There's no doubt that death is a terrible disorder but there will never be a cure for it.
I believe what they mean is they would like to find ways to keep people from aging and dying.
I wish them good luck. It sounds like an interesting project. And what harm could it possibly do to try?
